The Executive Committee consists of Secretary, Junior Treasurer, Sponsorship Officer, Publicity Officer, etc. Because most of what we do is project based, there is a project leader for each project. CUEWB strongly encourages any member of the Executive Committee to take the Project Leader role in any project that he/she is interested in and to propose his/her own ideas and projects over time. In this way, every member of the Executive Committee will have the opportunity to lead CUEWB and rotate in different posts.

The Executive Committee of CUEWB consists of the following members:
Ms. Laura London (President)
Laura returns to academia from corporate America where she managed international partnerships across sectors for one of the world's largest diversified education providers. Prior to that, she worked as an internal consultant and led employee professional development programmes. These experiences, complemented by a background in change leadership and labour relations, shape her desire to leverage educational resources globally and help bridge the gaps between sectors. This desire fuels her current studies as an MPhil student in Educational Research. It also fuels her commitment to CUEWB's mission. She aims to build on the society's strong infrastructure and find new opportunities for expansion in line with its objectives. This includes new regions, new fields of study, and new methods for engaging the Cambridge community. Her background in project management will assist in supporting project leaders and ensuring they have adequate resources to successfully run their projects. It is her enthusiasm for connecting people and ideas, however, that can help lead CUEWB to new heights.
Ms. Yiqing Hu (Sponsorship Officer)
Having been a science student for her A-levels, a land economist for her first year at Cambridge, and now a philosopher, Yiqing enjoys the variety of her educational experiences and feels deeply about education, especially the potential of international transfer of educational resources, after being a part-time tutor to fellow students and juniors in China, Singapore, and the UK for almost all her life after the O-levels. She raised funds for film festivals, for balls, and for talent shows from big corporations, small businesses, NGOs as well as governmental bodies. She hopes to help extend CUEWB’s reach to more countries, more cultures, and more students and make life-changing impacts on all those involved. She also strives to become an entrepreneur to finance a financially perilous life of a philosopher.
Dr. Magdalini Papadaki (Publicity Officer)
With more than a decade of research experience in a variety of biomedical fields as well as professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Magda is a great believer of the transforming impact that the novel models of collaboration between academia and industry can have on people, societies, and even entire nations. Albeit a new student at the University of Cambridge, she has been impressed by the abundance of motions, organisations, and societies that stem out this cradle of academic excellence and the influence of its people and activities. On this exact ground, she was greatly inspired by the work of CUEWB in securing links of industry and enterprise with academic institutions in both emerging economies and countries currently facing the vertex of the global financial crisis. As Publicity Officer, Magda intends to devote all her skills, scientific knowledge, and professional experience to secure the Society’s novel and existing collaborators, for its continuity and fruitful existence, and to safeguard, with highly educated approaches, the Society’s purpose and interests.
Dr. Liang Lin (Publicity Officer)
Working at the University of Cambridge
Project Leader of Cambridge Entrepreneurship and Leadership Seminars (CELS09-1, CELS09-2, CELS10-1, CELS10-2, CELS11-1, and CELS11-2)
Liang has the CUEWB belief of improving the world by making the best education accessible to as many people as possible throughout the globe. In the first step, he would like to bring the outstanding students at top universities in China to learn entrepreneurship and leadership at Cambridge. By doing this, he can help enthusiastic young people to master the key skills, motivation, communication, organisation and determination, to their success. Ultimately, he will work together with other team members to build up a brand series of courses based on the resources of the University of Cambridge, which will be available for all people, especially those from developing countries.
Ms. Cathy Xu (Publicity Officer)
Reading for an MPhil in Economics
Cathy has always appreciated her opportunity to study what she enjoys at a world-class institution after having benefitted from the vastly different yet both very challenging and life-enhancing education in China and in the UK. It is her own experience and the stories of her friends who study in China and the US that raised her awareness of the mutual benefits that could potentially come from opening up educational opportunities and exchanges of ideas across geographical and cultural barriers. Upon joining CUEWB, she hopes to see more of such opportunities explored and utilised, and through them create what could be a life-changing experience for individuals.
