Cambridge, UK - 16 Oct. 2007 - Cambridge University Education Without Borders (CUEWB), a non-profit student association committed to sharing educational resources worldwide and breaking the barrier between academics and industry, is pleased to announce that Mr. Rob Valli will deliver a speech at CUEWB's International Forum, Beijing on 8 December 2007.
Mr. Valli's professional background and experience dovetails business, higher education, leadership, and service. After two decades of successful investment banking, technology venturing, and entrepreneurial leadership, Rob Valli joined the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. He is laser-focused on identifying, cultivating, and brokering ways of interacting that are mutually beneficial for all constituents; leading to relationship growth and higher global recognition for the Department and the University. Rob Valli is an accomplished professional: who prides himself on being pro-active, rather than reactive; an achiever, rather than an aspirer; and a student advocate whose deed follows his word. Rob is the consummate "team player" who is committed to listening, learning, fostering and facilitating.
CUEWB's International Forum, Beijing is themed Success: Vision & Action. Open to 1,500 students selected from the top-10 universities in Beijing, the forum is aiming at providing the opportunity for students to hear speakers from outside who can give their view of China, and of what it takes for young Chinese people to succeed in today’s globalised world. In addition, CUEWB is also hoping to help promote educational and cultural exchange between China and the U.K.
With Mr. Valli joining to speak at the International Forum, Beijing, CUEWB believes that the student audience will benefit from the topics on how to bring ideas into innovation, how to make the innovation sustainable, and how to commercialise the innovation.
