It all started, as have many great things, in Cambridge. A most enterprising group of Chinese students – all working on Master's Degrees in Engineering, all tremendously entrepreneurial, decided that there was a great need to break down barriers between student communities and young people generally around the World, and give real help to processes of internationalisation and integration by starting a new movement – CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY EDUCATION WITHOUT BORDERS, and to launch a Worldwide programme with a high profile conference in Beijing.
At that Conference, 1500 students from 15 Universities assembled on December 8th – just a short time ago, and were treated to presentations and discussion by top notch international speakers from the world of education and business – on subjects ranging from Creativity, Innovation and Imagination, to cases studies of outstanding business success from real entrepreneurs.
Speakers were from UK, USA., The Philippines, Japan, China and Dubai. The whole event was focussed on the theme of VISION to REALITY, from DREAM to REALISATION. And the message was BE INSPIRED and make that creative idea work for you, and the good of mankind.
The event was sponsored by Nomura Bank, international patent attorneys Marks and Clerk, Youth Business China and others. It was reported in the Chinese press and on television in China. The British Council were present through an opening speaker – the Head of the Council in Asia – Joanna Burke and UK Trade Invest supported with China's Head – Alastair Morgan. The Finnish Ambassador and his wife were there as were leaders of some of the most highly regarded Universities in Beijing.
Copies of all the presentations will be made available on the Cambridge Education Without Borders website at www.cuewb.com There is a special web section with all the pictures from the event, accessible through www.cuewb.com/gallery. Finance China reported in detail on the event – and the Chinese language version of the report and more pictures are at http://finance.sina.com.cn/hy/20071212/11064281608.shtml.

Cambridge University Education Without Borders took out 25 Cambridge University students who all stayed on to teach at 'A' Level equivalent standard at the Royal Beijing School. The students paid their own way – and offered their services in a true pioneering spirit of enterprise.
The organising team are already thinking of "what to do next" and "where to have the next event – in 2008".
